That was quick. Rubi Rose just clarified the nature of her so-called relationship with Druski, revealing it was nothing more than a public relations stunt. Sheesh.

In a recent post on X (formerly known as Twitter), Rose dismissed rumors of a romantic involvement, stating that they never slept together and that their connection was purely business. “He only paid for PR,” she wrote, putting an end to the speculation about a real romance between the two.

ICYMI, earlier this year, Rose and Druski had kinda confirmed their relationship or situationship back in April, even sharing intimate photos and videos on Instagram, including snapshots from a vacation in the Dominican Republic.

This led many to believe they were genuinely dating. Can’t believe anything anymore, especially on socials.

Anyway, in a later interview during Paris Fashion Week, Rose declared her single status, saying, “F*ck love,” and adding, “Okay, I’m single, guys.” Druski also reflected on their supposed breakup, describing it as a “learning situation” and confirming he was also single.

Wow.

Rose’s recent revelation now casts a new light on their relationship, suggesting it was always a calculated move rather than a genuine romantic connection.

Shakira left the stage at a Miami club after catching a fan attempting to film up her skirt while she danced to her new song, “Soltera.” 

The superstar was at LIV Miami to preview the single and appeared to be shooting a video with Winnie Harlow, Anitta, Lele Pons, and Danna. A fan video posted to Twitter showed her interacting with the other female artists before taking the stage. While performing her signature hip-gyrating moves, she noticed an unknown fan filming under her brown lace dress, pulled it down, and signaled for him to stop. 

Shakira then gestured to the crowd, wagging her fingers to show that she saw the inappropriate behavior, and tried to continue dancing. However, when the person persisted, she called for the music to stop and left the stage, visibly upset. She was escorted off by the same women who helped her on stage. 

Fans and the general public were quick to decry the videographer’s behavior as “creepy” and “inappropriate,” amongst other things.

Shakira, however, appears to have chosen to focus on the positive aspects of the evening, sharing fun backstage videos to her Instagram account from the night in question.

No release date has been announced for “Soltera,” which marks her first new music since her March 2024 album Las Mujeres Ya No Lloran.

However, the North American leg of Shakira’s Las Mujeres Ya No Lloran world tour kicks off on November 20 in Palm Desert, CA and ends in Detroit on December 15.

Despite backlash over his past antisemitic comments, inflammatory statements about slavery, and support for Donald Trump—which resulted in severed ties with fans and brands like Adidas—tickets for the show sold out rapidly, with over 42,000 tickets gone within minutes.

Get this: While it’s believed that the Chinese government gave West strict guidelines for his performance, this has not been confirmed. It remains unclear why West was allowed to perform, especially given China’s current restrictions on Western entertainers under President Xi Jinping, which have led many high-profile acts to avoid the country. Artists such as Billie Eilish, Coldplay, and Taylor Swift have skipped China on their tours. At the same time, Justin Bieber and Lady Gaga are banned due to what the government considers controversial behavior.

What’s more, Ye’s concert received official approval from Chinese authorities, generating significant buzz on social media. Some speculate that China may be attempting to fill the void left by other international stars like Taylor Swift. In contrast, others view it as an effort to boost Hainan’s economy, which relies heavily on tourism. West even brought his children on stage during the concert, adding to the event’s allure.

Initially, West was scheduled to perform in Taiwan. Still, that show was canceled last month due to “unforeseen circumstances,” adding to the intrigue surrounding his performance in China amid ongoing political tensions.

Another one … As you might have seen from earlier reporting, former Danity Kane and Dirty Money artist Dawn Richard filed a sprawling lawsuit against none other than Sean “Diddy” Combs, accusing him of verbal, physical, and sexual abuse.

Let’s be clear: Diddy and his legal team have denied these claims, and it seems they plan to fight them in court.

Anyway, the 55-page document, Richard also alleges that she witnessed Diddy abuse his then-girlfriend, Cassie, during their relationship.

We said that one already, but get this. She names celebrities Usher, Ne-Yo, and music executive Jimmy Iovine as witnesses who did nothing to stop the abuse.

Again, these are her allegations.

What’s more one notable incident detailed in the lawsuit took place at a star-studded dinner in Los Angeles before Diddy signed a deal with Jimmy Iovine’s Interscope Records. Richard alleges that during the dinner, Diddy threatened and punched Cassie in the stomach in front of the guests, causing her to double over in pain. Usher and Ne-Yo were reportedly present and saw the incident unfold.

The lawsuit claims details such as:

“In front of dinner guests, Mr. Combs hissed at Ms. Ventura in a screaming whisper and forcefully punched her in the stomach, causing her to double over in visible pain, crying.”

As we mentioned, the details were fast and furious. Diddy’s attorney, Erica Wolff, responded to the lawsuit, calling the claims “false” and suggesting that Richard is seeking money in conjunction with her album release. Wolff added, “If Ms. Richard had such a negative experience with Making the Band and Danity Kane, she would not have continued working with Mr. Combs for Dirty Money or returned for the Making the Band reboot in 2020.”

An Atlanta judge showed just how serious he was about child support on Monday when he ordered Tyrese into custody for failure to pay child support.

The artist (real name Tyrese Gibson) was arrested for failing to pay court-ordered child support to his ex-wife, Samantha Lee, with whom he shares a 5 year old daughter. The judge, Kevin Farmer, had ordered Gibson to pay $10,000 per month starting in April 2023, but Gibson had been paying only $2,200 monthly.

During a court hearing in Fulton County, Georgia, the judge expressed frustration with Gibson’s continued refusal to meet the payment requirement. As a result, Gibson was held in contempt of court, handcuffed, and taken into custody. However, the judge offered him a way to avoid jail by paying $73,000, which includes $7,500 for Lee’s attorney fees.

It appears that Tyrese saw his arrest coming, appearing Sunday on Instagram to say that he’s never done anything illegal and claiming that both of his exes are in the wrong and that he is innocent, asking his women followers who have been in similar situations to side with him. He also encouraged his followers to buy tickets to his upcoming shows as a way to “support real R&B.”

Despite his morning arrest, sources report that Gibson plans to come up with the $73,000 and be released by the end of the day.

This is not Gibson’s first dust up with the judge. In a 2023 hearing, Gibson pushed back on the judge after the judge read from his tax return that he [Gibson] had made $2.2 million in 2018 despite claiming that his finances were “in shambles.” After Gibson protested, the judge ordered him to be held in contempt before issuing the child support order.

Well, this looks different … Read, set, go …On Friday (Sept. 6) Quavo dropped a teaser trailer for his fans to his upcoming live-action CGI film “Takeover.” In true sign of the times fashion, the visual was posted on the Gram. 

Now it’s just a short clip but it features what appears to be a near-lifelike version of the rapper turned actor tearing up an Atlanta roadway with a child in the backseat – ouch – while a bald man sits in the front passenger seat, holding a gun to Quavo’s side. Okay, now we’re getting somewhere. 

The visual is pretty intense and also gives viewers a police chase, blending Atlanta’s street racing culture, specifically street takeovers, with a world of high-stakes crime. Sounds like the logline to us.

Okay, so according to “Variety”, the gist of “Takeover” centers around Gamal Akopyan, the leader of an international heist ring, who uses street takeovers to pull off massive robberies. After his latest heist goes wrong, Akopyan must navigate the dangerous Atlanta takeover scene to escape — with nine figures’ worth of diamonds in tow. In addition to Quavo, actor Billy Zane will also star in the film.

Here’s what Quavo said in a statement: 

”Takeover” is unlike anything you’ve seen before and will blow minds. This film brings a whole new vibe that’s about to change the game, and I’m really hyped to share it with my fans.”

If you didn’t know, because we didn’t, Atlanta has become a hot spot for street racing and sideshows, where drivers block off streets to perform car stunts, often in the midst of illegal activities. 

Not get this, the film’s hybrid format, combining live-action and animation, aims to capture the allure and controversy of these street takeovers. Interesting artistic take.

ICYMI, Quavo’s acting career has been on the rise since he made his debut alongside his Migos groupmates, Takeoff and Offset, with a guest spot on FX’s “Atlanta” in 2016. He later made his film debut in 2022, appearing alongside Robert De Niro, John Malkovich, and Jack Huston in “Savage Salvation”. In 2023, Quavo landed a prominent role in “Praise This”, and he recently starred in John Travolta’s action-heist film “Cash Out”.

Outside of gracing the big and small screen, Quavo has also contributed to film soundtracks. Alongside generating buzz for “Takeover”, he recently promoted his collaboration with Ty Dolla Sign, “If I Fall”, which will be featured on the soundtrack for “Transformers One”. In the track, Quavo raps, “I’m in my prime, Optimus (Optimus), I’m goin’ big, Megatron,” a nod to the iconic “Transformers” characters. The song will play during the film’s end credits when it hits theaters on September 20.

So the release date for “Takeover” has not yet been announced, the teaser has already stirred excitement among fans. Keep an eye out for further updates on this action-packed film.

While many fans were initially concerned, worried that the pregnant artist may have been injured or ill, Cardi was quick to note that she only used the wheelchair because her feet were too swollen to walk as she is in her final trimester of her pregnancy with her third child. (The American Dream Mall is also one of the largest malls in the country, covering approximately 3 million square feet.)

Cardi’s choice of transportation wasn’t the only thing that got noticed. She also made a striking impression with her bold fashion choices, donning a quirky white furry bunny hat paired with a white cropped T-shirt, baggy distressed jeans, and pink boots that matched her pink Louis Vuitton bag and long pink hair. The rapper proudly showcased her baby bump as she prepares to welcome her third child with estranged husband Offset, who also attended the party.

An observer noted that Cardi was accompanied by an entourage of 20 to 30 people during the celebration. On Instagram, she shared heartfelt photos with Wave, expressing her joy and initial apprehension about having a boy, given she’s “such a girly girl.” She praised her son for making it easy to embrace the role of a sporty mom and promised to always support him with an Instagram photo that showed her holding her son and a caption that read:

“It’s a shame we’re talking about him in this way,” KRS said. “Hip hop gotta stop doing that. Only when dudes pass, that’s when they get honored. Isaac Freeman III, aka Fatman Scoop, legendary DJ and figure within the Hip Hop community, tragically died last week.

The heartbreaking revelation came from Freeman’s tour manager @itspurecold who posted on Insragram:

“I am honestly lost for words… You took me all over the world and had me performing alongside you on some of the biggest and greatest stages on this planet, the things you taught me have truely made me the man I am today. Thank you so much, I love you x.”

In another post from the Reminisce Festival, an event that had Mr. Freeman III scheduled to perform just next week on Sept. 7 added:

“It is with the deepest sorrow that we at Reminisce have received the devastating news of the tragic passing of the legendary Isaac Freeman III, known to us all as Fatman Scoop. This loss has left us all heartbroken.”

Lil Woody’s testimonies in the YSL trial get more insane by the day. When reading a transcript, Young Thug’s attorney, Brian Steel, would not say the n-word, which Woody caught on to and asked what “N” was during a court session.

Earlier this month, the Georgia Supreme Court suspended attorney Jonathan Reuven Melnick for six months due to conduct unrelated to the ongoing trial. Huh, what, wow. 

As a result, witness Kenneth Copeland, also known as Lil’ Woody, appeared in court on Tuesday without his attorney—like, no lawyer at all. 

During his testimony, Copeland repeatedly responded to Assistant District Attorney Simone Hylton with the phrase, “I don’t recall.”

Get this: Melnick’s suspension was confirmed by a Georgia Supreme Court decision that was released on Tuesday morning. The court order stated, “Accordingly, it is hereby ordered that Jonathan R. Melnick is suspended from the practice of law in Georgia for six months. The suspension based on this opinion will take effect as of the date this opinion is issued and will expire by its own terms six months later.” The State Bar of Georgia’s directory lists Jonathan Melnick as suspended for “non-compliance” with Continuing Legal Education rules, rendering him ineligible to practice law in the state.

So what’s interesting is that after spending most of the morning on the stand, Copeland refused to continue testifying upon learning of Melnick’s suspension, insisting on having legal representation present.

Judge Whitaker, probably as frustrated as everyone else, responded by dismissing the jury for recess and committed to securing a public defender for Copeland in Melnick’s absence. When the court reconvened, Whitaker announced that the appointed attorney would not be available until the next day, meaning Copeland’s testimony could not proceed.

A motivated private investigator is actively pursuing The Game. Basically, the P.I. is looking to ensure the Compton rapper pays a debt owed to Priscilla Rainey, who accused him of sexual assault. SMH. So looks like the story was scooped by AllHipHop, stating P.I. Robert Sedillo Jr. informed a California court that he has served the rapper with multiple legal documents, alerting him to his obligation to settle the debt owed to Rainey.

Get this, Sedillo first filed these legal documents on Thursday, August 22, after Rainey enlisted his services to assist in recovering the $7 million judgment she won against The Game in 2016. The documents included a proposed notice of a hearing for a right to a homestead exemption and the potential sale of a dwelling to help satisfy the outstanding debt.

So previous legal documents from Rainey’s case revealed that she had served The Game and Wack 100, attempting to use his house as collateral for the $7 million he owes her. Seven Milly.

Rainey initially filed the lawsuit in 2015, accusing the rapper, whose real name is Jayceon Terrell Taylor, of sexually assaulting her during the filming of his VH1 reality show, She Got Game.

What’s more, Rainey alleged that while on a date with Taylor in Chicago, which she believed was a required after-hours scene for the show, he became intoxicated and forcibly “rubbed his hand inside her dress to touch her bare vagina and buttocks” while others in the bar looked on. According to The Hollywood Reporter, Rainey later confronted Taylor about the incident on a tour bus, where he denied any wrongdoing.

In 2016, The Game addressed the horrible allegations as such: “Don’t be fooled by these accusations or the dollar amount in the headlines cause I put that on my favorite auntie’s poodle this broad ain’t gettin sh*t! Every girl on that show will tell you I never touched this chick or ever desired to be anywhere near her.”

Check this out, The Game may be forced to sell his house to satisfy the debt. He is scheduled to appear in court for a decision on October 7. Sheesh.

In an update to an earlier story, TMZ was first to break the news that Isaac Freeman III aka Fatman Scoop, legendary DJ and figure within the Hip Hop community, has tragically died. 

The heartbreaking revelation came from Freeman’s tour manager @itspurecold who posted on Insragram:

“I am honestly lost for words… You took me all over the world and had me performing alongside you on some of the biggest and greatest stages on this planet, the things you taught me have truely made me the man I am today. Thank you so much, I love you x.”

In another post from the Reminisce Festival, an event that had Mr. Freeman III scheduled to perform just next week on Sept. 7 added:

“It is with the deepest sorrow that we at Reminisce have received the devastating news of the tragic passing of the legendary Isaac Freeman III, known to us all as Fatman Scoop. This loss has left us all heartbroken.”

Scary moment when Fatman Scoop, whose real name is Isaac Freeman III, collapsed on stage during a performance at Hamden Town Centre Park. 

The incident was confirmed by Hamden mayor Lauren Garrett, who stated that Freeman was “transported by ambulance to the hospital.” Garrett added, 

“We will provide updates when they are available. Please keep him in your thoughts and prayers.”

This is concerning and many of Scoop’s fans not to mention the industry are collectively holding their breathe. 

There also seems to be footage circulating on social media capturing the distressing moment Freeman struggled to climb onto a platform before collapsing behind a DJ booth. 

The music was quickly stopped, and fellow performers on stage addressed the crowd.

The audience fell eerily silent. 

What’s more is some screams could be heard as CPR was administered in an attempt to revive Freeman on the scene. 

Authorities arrived at 8:33 p.m. and transported the rapper out of the venue on a stretcher. 

His current condition remains unknown, though concerned concertgoers were overheard asking if he was okay after witnessing the collapse.

As expected, fans have started flooding social media with messages of concern and support for the hip-hop hype man, who gained prominence in the early 2000s with his 2003 re-release of “Be Faithful” alongside Crooklyn Clan.

In a 2014 interview, Freeman III shared that his nickname, Fatman Scoop, was given to him by his Uncle Jack due to his love of ice cream as a child. Iconic. 

If unfamiliar, throughout his career, Freeman has collaborated with numerous artists, including Mariah Carey, Janet Jackson, Whitney Houston, and Missy Elliott, earning critical acclaim. His feature in Missy Elliott’s 2005 hit “Lose Control” won a Grammy for Best Short Form Music Video and earned a nomination for Best Rap Song. That same year, he appeared on Mariah Carey’s hit single “It’s Like That” alongside Jermaine Dupri, which earned her a Grammy nomination for Best Female Pop Vocal Performance.

Pharrell Williams’ upcoming musical film has more news. Universal Pictures gave the project an official title and release date.

Now called “Atlantis”, it is set to hit theaters on May 9, 2025.

“Atlantis” is described as a vibrant exploration of a transformative summer in the life of a young boy in 1977, drawing from the rich cultural tapestry of Pharrell’s upbringing.

Dope title. We’re here for it.

Behind the camera, “Atlantis” is directed by Michel Gondry, known for “Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind” and “The Science of Sleep.” The film features a star-studded cast, including Kelvin Harrison Jr., Halle Bailey, Brian Tyree Henry, Quinta Brunson, Anderson Paak, Janelle Monáe, and Missy Elliott. Other cast members include Tim Meadows, Jayson Lee, Jamilah Rosemond, and Jaboukie Young-White.

Get this: Martin Hynes and Steven Levenson penned the screenplay, while Pharrell himself, along with Benj Pasek and Justin Paul (“The Greatest Showman, La La Land”), are responsible for the film’s music. Pharrell is also producing the project alongside Mimi Valdés and Gil Netter. The executive producers include Matthew Hirsch, Raffi Adlan, Jennie Lee, Shani Saxon, Michael Mayer, Benj Pasek, and Justin Paul.

Gotta admit the soundtrack on this is probably gonna go crazy.

Maybe that Toronto turmoil between Drake and The Weeknd is starting to make more sense. The second round of Drake’s archived “100 Gigs” collection shows a backstage moment from the 2013 OVO Fest. Drake is seen enthusiastically greeting members of The Weeknd’s XO crew but noticeably neglects to acknowledge The Weeknd himself, leading to speculation about a possible issue.

A ha. The plot thickens.

Get this, the video continues, and Abel Tesfaye—that’s The Weeknd’s government name, by the way — is seen twisting his lip and looking visibly irritated. At one point, Drake is seen telling a story about Kanye West, Don C, and Virgil Abloh’s appearance at the festival, after which he appears to offer a quick dap to The Weeknd before the clip abruptly ends.

Drake leaks this—diabolic. But the content does not show why. There are three sides to every story, and the third side is usually the truth.

Fans quickly jumped into the chat, “Oh so he ignored him after he used him for one of his best albums? Great, you been a snake.” Another added, “Drake a slimey guy. Peep how he cut the footage immediately after he acknowledged The Weeknd and was about to dap him up.”

More from the peanut gallery: “Drake gonna dap everyone but The Weeknd and talk extremely close to him but act like all beef is due to jealousy,” one user noted. Another remarked, “Ya’ll talking about a man who stole songs from The Weeknd around this time. “Take Care” was only possible because of Abel. Period. It was all good just a week ago, or maybe it never was. In the curious case of when Cardi B will release her next album, the Bronx rapper has kept fans on edge with a series of updates and delays.

Cardi stirred up more excitement and concern on Wednesday (Aug. 28) when she posted a photo from a recording studio, captioning it, “Back at Atlantic Records correctional facilities.” Wow.

The comment sparked a flurry of reactions on socials.

One user on X quipped, “She just like me when it’s time to go to work.”

Another said, “Well she’s pregnant & divorcing, wouldn’t want to either.”

Obviously, fans and the world have been waiting for a follow-up to her blockbuster 2018 debut, “Invasion of Privacy,” which spawned hits like “Bodak Yellow,” “I Like It,” and “Bartier Cardi.” But earlier this year, Cardi announced that the album would not be released in 2024.

“I hate that I fall back and start interacting again and it bites me in the a**. Anyway, NO album this year I don’t care I’m relaxing this year ..Dropping these features I already committed to and traveling and enjoying my summer,” she tweeted in May.

However, her label, Atlantic Records, said via caption, “Cardi B’s upcoming album is one of the most anticipated this year. We can’t wait [to] put it out, even if we have to sneak into her studio and take it!”

Maybe Atlantic has not gotten the memo. Or maybe they don’t care what she said. Either way, we’re all on album watch, and the clock is ticking.

For the ninth year in a row, all 30 Major League Baseball teams will raise awareness for childhood cancer in all ballparks during all games on Sunday.

September is Childhood Cancer Awareness Month and MLB Together continues its community-based demonstrations of support for the cancer awareness among children, including outreach to local hospitals treating childhood patients.

According to the organization, all on-field personnel, including players, managers, coaches, and umpires will wear gold ribbon decals and wristbands during all games. Additionally, commemorative base jewels and line up cards will be featured on the day.

Club activations may include youth participation in pregame ceremonies, visits from players, mascots and other special recognitions. Nonprofit partners for Clubs may include partnering with local hospital or organizations focused on cancer among children such as Stand Up To Cancer, American Cancer Society, and Starlight Children’s Foundation.

As an extension of MLB’s relationship with Starlight Children’s Foundation, all 30 Clubs will be receiving either a Nintendo Switch Handheld or a Virtual Reality headset, which will be donated to a local children’s hospital, hospital pediatric cancer care unit or a pediatric cancer nonprofit organization. This year, approximately 10,000 children under the age of 15 are expected to receive a cancer diagnosis in the United States. Across all demographics, this disease is the second-leading cause of death by disease in children ages 1-14. MLB, alongside other committed community leaders in this cause, are dedicated to lessening the statistics of cancer as a disease affecting young people.

Some of the most common types of childhood cancer include leukemia, brain tumors, central nervous system tumors, and malignant epithelial neoplasms and lymphomas. Over the past 50 years, cancer researchers have helped to develop treatments that have greatly changed the lives of patients with a pediatric cancer diagnosis. The five year survival rate for childhood cancer is now 85% (compared to 58% in the mid-1970’s).

I bet you didn’t know John Cena dropped a Hip Hop album that went platinum. We didn’t have that on our bingo cards.

In a recent appearance on “Club Shay Shay,” WWE superstar turned actor John Cena opened up about his early connection to rap music, describing it as an act of rebellion during a time when he craved more attention in his household.

“I was one of five boys, and I had a lot of angst with how the household was being run. I was a rebel. That music found me at the right time,” Cena shared with Shannon.

Like many young kids who loved real rap music, Cena was drawn to intricate wordplay, poetic bars, and lyrics that provoked deep thought. He revealed that even a powerful social justice anthem like N.W.A.’s “F”ck The Police,” though intense, resonated with him on a personal level. Interesting …

“To a 13-year-old kid, the police are my parents, and it was me who was like, ‘Well, f—k that,” Cena explained to Shannon Sharpe during the interview.

Onto the heavyweights … Cena also discussed his top rap influences, listing Rakim, Eminem, Jay-Z, and Nas as his personal “Mount Rushmore of rap.”

“So for me, Jay-Z, Eminem, Nas, and Rakim. Man, Rakim’s voice. Everyone has their bias. I know that list is obviously going to incite riots. We all have our bias. We all have our favorites. That’s what makes music special. That’s what makes creativity special. I was brought up in the East Coast boom bap. I love wordplay, I love poetry. That’s what I based my character on, so I think all that’s super clever, and that’s my list,” Cena said.

Get this: Cena has been widely credited with introducing hip-hop to the WWE, a company that was traditionally seen as a rock and roll domain. Reflecting on this, Cena recalled, “They didn’t have any depth of field for hip-hop, and I listened to my music being like: ‘I could do better than this.’ I called up a friend who knew a friend who had a studio. We got some beats and we made an album. And that was it, that was it.”

That album, “You Can’t See Me,” remains Cena’s only music release, but it made an impact, debuting at number 15 on Billboard’s 200 list. Cena cited athletes like Shaquille O’Neal and Kobe Bryant, who also dabbled in music, as influences on his musical career.

Kanye West made headlines as he does, this time in South Korea when he enjoyed a $600 meal of premium Korean beef at a restaurant in Seoul without paying.

Full stop. I get the novelty and marketing behind giving him an expensive meal and not charging him as long as they can push the fact that he had the meal, but when is enough too much?

After performing an unannounced 150-minute concert in Goyang on August 23, which included around 70 songs, West visited a Gangnam district restaurant on August 26. 

Get this: The restaurant’s owner, a fan of Kanye’s music—how surprising—decided not to charge him for the meal, allowing the rapper and his entourage to leave without paying.

Outside of that spot, Kanye’s visit to Korea also included stops at popular locations like a toy store in I’Park Mall and a Starbucks near Hangangjin Station, generating excitement among fans.

Kanye West’s surprise performance and culinary adventures in Seoul have once again highlighted his influence, drawing attention from his fans and the media. Several K-pop stars, including members of 2NE1 and NewJeans attended the concert.

ICYMI, Ludacris caused a stir online when he posted a video of himself drinking untreated water from an Alaska glacier. 

I think what’s really funny is how he was dressed like he just popped out for a cook out on a 65 degree spring day with a varsity jacket, jeans etc. Ge said he had on ice cleats but dude was on a GLACIER. Like, c’mon.

Anyways …

Fans expressed concern that he could contract the parasite giardia, which can cause serious illness. 

Yikes. But scientist-ing by tweet ins’t so scientific tbh.

Okay here’s the SCIENCE behind giardia. Symptoms of giardiasis can be serious. They include diarrhea, stomach cramps and dehydration. Ick. Then it can spread from one person to another. This happens through contaminated water, food and or surfaces. The Centers for Disease Control Prevention aka the CDC, remember those folks that fought for us during the pandemic, suggests people should avoid swallowing water while swimming and always boiling it or filter the water from lakes, springs or rivers before drinking it to prevent getting sick with well, giardia.

However, glaciologist Martin Truffer from the University of Alaska in Fairbanks dismissed these worries, calling the concerns “ludicrous.” Ha. See how he did that.

Truffer explained that drinking water from a melt stream on a glacier is one of the cleanest sources of water available. Gotcha.

“He’s totally fine,” Truffer said, adding, “There’s just really no concern on these glacial streams about safety.” 

Ludacris, who was in Alaska to perform at the state fair, described the glacier water as “the best tasting water I’ve ever had in my life.” Is that right?

The rapper explored Knik Glacier and later joked about being a “water snob” in a video before his Minneapolis concert.

While the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention advise against drinking untreated water from natural sources due to risks like giardia, Truffer assured that glacier water is exceptionally pure. Well, let’s decide for ourselves.

This interesting relevation adds another layer to the history between Drake and Kendrick Lamar, who collaborated on tracks like “Buried Alive Interlude” from Drake’s 2011 album “Take Care” and “Poetic Justice” from Lamar’s “good kid, m.A.A.d city.”

Their so called cordial and seemingly collaborative relationship began to sour after Kendrick’s 2013 “Control” verse, where he called out several rappers, including Drake.

Earlier this month, the Georgia Supreme Court suspended attorney Jonathan Reuven Melnick for six months due to conduct unrelated to the ongoing trial. Huh, what, wow. 

As a result, witness Kenneth Copeland, also known as Lil’ Woody, appeared in court on Tuesday without his attorney—like, no lawyer at all. 

During his testimony, Copeland repeatedly responded to Assistant District Attorney Simone Hylton with the phrase, “I don’t recall.”

Get this: Melnick’s suspension was confirmed by a Georgia Supreme Court decision that was released on Tuesday morning. The court order stated, “Accordingly, it is hereby ordered that Jonathan R. Melnick is suspended from the practice of law in Georgia for six months. The suspension based on this opinion will take effect as of the date this opinion is issued and will expire by its own terms six months later.” The State Bar of Georgia’s directory lists Jonathan Melnick as suspended for “non-compliance” with Continuing Legal Education rules, rendering him ineligible to practice law in the state.

So what’s interesting is that after spending most of the morning on the stand, Copeland refused to continue testifying upon learning of Melnick’s suspension, insisting on having legal representation present.

Judge Whitaker, probably as frustrated as everyone else, responded by dismissing the jury for recess and committed to securing a public defender for Copeland in Melnick’s absence. When the court reconvened, Whitaker announced that the appointed attorney would not be available until the next day, meaning Copeland’s testimony could not proceed.

It’s another day for everyone on Earth, but if you’re involved with the Young Thug YSL RICO trial, it’s the 119th day of that. Kenneth ‘Lil Woody’ Copeland’s cross-examination continued that day, and significant developments ensued.

Brian Steel kicked things off by revisiting a meeting on June 10, during which he believes Copeland felt pressured by the state to testify. Despite Steel’s attempts to get more details, Copeland remained largely unresponsive. This led Steel to shift his focus to previous interviews played by the prosecution.

Steel, who has made a name for himself, questioned Copeland about Young Thug, whose real name is Jeffery Williams, and his alleged connection to the January 2015 murder of Donovan “Nut” Thomas. According to reports, Young Thug had rented the car used in the murder. Steel also referenced Copeland in Young Thug’s song “Halftime,” specifically the lyric, “lil whoodie done pull up and pop at his noggin.” In response, Copeland denied any truth to that lyric.

Get this: further questioning involved the music video for Copeland’s song “Homicide” and his social media activity, as Steel continued to probe into Copeland’s actions and statements.

Steel press plays on portions of interviews that Copeland had given to police shortly after the murder of Donovan Thomas. In one of these interviews, Copeland mentioned that he had been warned that Thomas and his associates were planning to harm him on the day Thomas was killed.

Steel wasn’t playing around and confronted Copeland with the fact that he was charged with Thomas’ murder four months after his 2015 police interrogation. Copeland admitted that he was aware of the charge. However, when asked whether Young Thug had also been charged, Copeland said he did not know.

During the contentious questioning, Copeland became emotional, describing the harsh conditions he endured while being held in the Rice Street, or Fulton County Jail. He detailed the foul-smelling and chaotic environment, noting that people were smearing feces on the walls. He shared that he was locked in a room and felt like he was losing his mind. Copeland also expressed negative feelings about his time in the DeKalb County Jail, adding that his stomach had been cramping, and he was struggling to eat due to the stress of the trial.

Steel did not hide Copeland’s extensive criminal history, including his numerous charges, plea deals, and convictions over the years.

Shortly before 4 p.m., Judge Judge Whitaker interrupted the questioning. Steel informed the judge that he anticipated concluding his cross-examination by 11 a.m. on Wednesday. Other attorneys, Doug Weinstein and Careton Matthews indicated they would need only 20 to 30 minutes for their questioning, while Shannon Stillwell’s attorney, Max Schardt, suggested he might require a full day.

Okay, so the next witness in the never-ending parade of witnesses expected to take the stand is Antonio “Mounk Tounk” Sledge, who pled guilty in 2022 to conspiracy to violate the racketeering act and possession of a firearm by a felon. As part of his plea deal, Sledge agreed to testify against the remaining defendants in exchange for a recommended 15-year probation sentence and the dismissal of the gun charge. Sledge, reportedly a YSL member since 2012, admitted involvement in a drive-by shooting and allegedly knows at least one YSL member’s role in the murder of Donovan Thomas.

Diddy’s legal team requested a federal judge dismiss a lawsuit filed by music producer Rodney “Lil Rod” Jones.

Jones accused Combs of a myriad of sexual misconduct and abuse, among other claims.

Combs’s legal team described Jones’s allegations as “tall tales,” “lurid theatrics,” and “blatant falsehoods,” designed to generate media attention and force a settlement.

Get this: The motion argued that Jones lacks standing to sue, fails to provide essential details such as the dates and locations of the alleged incidents, and does not establish any viable legal claims.

In case you missed it, Jones’s sweeping lawsuit details a tumultuous year he spent working with Combs in Los Angeles and Miami, producing an album in 2022 and 2023.

Not to go back on the whole claim by Jones, but basically, he said he witnessed, and in some cases even recorded, extensive illegal drug use and sexual activities involving Combs and his associates. We’ll leave it at that because we’re tired of talking about it.

Now, what stands out is Combs’s motion to dismiss, which counters that the lawsuit is an attempt to inflate a commercial dispute over unpaid production work into a criminal conspiracy without providing significant evidence. A ha.

Combs has broadly denied all allegations of sexual misconduct, stating in December, “Let me be absolutely clear. I did not do any of the awful things being alleged.”

In super rich people news, Kanye West has finally sold his Malibu mansion. The gutted beachfront property had become an infamous so-called project after he stripped it down.

The house has reportedly sold for $21 million. That would be a major loss.

Get this: Belwood Investments, a California-based real estate crowdfunding firm, purchased the mansion, which was initially designed by the renowned architect Tadao Ando.

If you were keeping up with Kanye’s real estate ventures, West originally acquired the property in 2021 for $57.3 million but, as we said, stripped it down to its bare framework, reportedly intending to convert it into a bomb shelter. However, the project stalled, and West eventually listed the home for $53 million, a price that found no takers. 

Faced with the difficulty of selling the property, West, alongside his realtor Jason Oppenheim from “Selling Sunset,” slashed the asking price by $14 million. The final sale to Belwood Investments closed at $21 million, significantly below the original purchase price. Yikes.

Big real estate players Jean-Baptiste Rugiero and Mehdi Maamri of The Agency represented Belwood Investments in the deal, which is expected to be finalized on September 3.

It looks like more money will be dumped into it. Belwood’s CEO, Bo Belmont, announced plans to invest an additional $5 million in restoring the mansion to reflect Tadao Ando’s original vision, stating, “This is not just a phenomenal real estate investment; it is an opportunity to revitalize and preserve an architectural gem by the renowned Tadao Ando, ensuring it remains a jewel of Malibu.”

When it comes to Nipsey Hussle’s legacy, the marathon continues.

The late Crenshaw icon was recently honored with a wax figure at Invest Fest 2024. This marked the debut of the first-ever wax figure of Hussle, unveiled by an artist known as Mr. Officials as part of a $100,000 competition at the festival.

From the looks of it, they got it right because fans believe the wax figure is a strikingly accurate representation of Hussle. The figure depicts him in a black T-shirt emblazoned with “Crenshaw” across the chest in white letters, paired with a gold chain and distressed black jeans.

According to Mr. Officials, crafting this figure was a labor-intensive project over nine months.

Another day, another lawsuit in the world of Hip Hop. Tameer Peak, a former devoted fan of Nicki Minaj, is suing the rapper for $5 million, alleging that she caused significant damage to his reputation, inflicted emotional distress, and led to financial losses.

According to Peak, tensions began to rise between him and Minaj in 2017 during what he describes as the “Nicki Hate Train” period. During this time, Minaj allegedly accused some fans of being spies sent to undermine her career.

Get this: Peak claims that the rapper publicly rebuked him during an Instagram Live session with Minaj, which had over 100,000 viewers. In his complaint, Peak also alleges that during the 2020 Super Bowl, he was physically assaulted by Minaj’s husband, Kenneth Petty.

Our friends at TMZ reported that during one of these sessions, Minaj allegedly said, “It’s clear they’re not necessarily, you know, a full basket umm at the picnic.” Peak interpreted this as an insinuation that he was mentally unstable or intellectually lacking. In another instance, he claims Minaj accused him of being “one sandwich short of a picnic” and implied he was on welfare by saying he received a check from the government.

So we’re waiting for a response but Minaj has not responded directly to the allegations, her attorney, Judd Burstein, has dismissed the claims. “Mr. Peak has been harassing Nicki on social media for years on end to no avail,” Burstein told TMZ. “He has now graduated to seeking to shake her down financially with manifestly false allegations and legally frivolous claims. He will regret having gone down this disreputable road when he is forced to pay her legal fees as required by California law.”

Sterlen Roberts, which drops August 30th, showcases the artist’s versatile production and range from gospel, on the soulful opening track “Way Up”, to an uptempo dance  R&B smash “Dip. Sterlen gives us a 27 track record that does not fall short of creative songs. We got a chance to catch up with Sterlen to get an exclusive segment on his latest project. Sterlen, son of Grammy nominated gospel songwriter Steven Roberts (Nobody But Jesus) has worked with many artists including Jodeci, Luke James, Keyshia Cole, Lyrica Anderson, Flo- Rida, Rico Love, Flavor Flav, and Aubrey O’Day, formerly of Danity Kane to name a few. He is the owner of his label Oakland to Paris Music Group and recently teamed up with Bungalo/Universal Music Group to release a full catalog of new music slated to drop August 30, 2024. He has put together a unique collage of music with this new album, so let’s briefly get into it. 

Sterlen’s Gospel musical background is evident throughout the 27 song album which includes a gospel choir intro leading into the track “Way Up”, featured on “The Heat” Sirius XM radio. “Time on It” was the first single off the album followed up by his current single “Spoil You”, both featuring artists Kaii and Jawnwitdagreenhair. Personally, we are expecting “Spoil You” to be a huge song this year for Sterlen. Strings of uplifting gospel- soul are evident throughout the record with “Blessings”, “God Us”, “Wait”, “Pull Up” and most of all his 12 minute medley  “Testimony Service”. Sterlen’s rap style at times compares to a Big Sean and yet his sound remains uniquely his own. Sterlen has a smooth but distinct voice, a dope flow and a masterful skill set as a very diverse producer.

This album seems very well crafted and definitely was not thrown together overnight. Sterlen teamed up with Grammy nominated mixer Rome Palermo and worked out the finishing touches at Rome’s Empire Studio in Calabasas, CA. We are hoping this album gets the attention it deserves. Right now the music supermarket is flooded, leaving many music fans hungry for good products.  We always allow our listeners to preview it for themselves.

Let’s clear some things up between Pras and Lauryn Hill. We know it’s not the Drake, K Dot beef you were all hoping for but we have to set the record straight. 

Pras just made sure we’re all on the same sheet of music. He claims he harbors no ill will towards his Fugees bandmate, Lauryn Hill, despite the recent cancellation of their U.S. reunion tour. However, he admits to feeling frustrated on behalf of their fans.

ICYMI, earlier this month, Lauryn Hill called off the highly anticipated Fugees’ U.S. tour dates, citing low ticket sales.

Get this, Hill attributed the disappointing sales to media outlets she claims exaggerated last year’s concert cancellations, creating what she described as a “climate” where fans were hesitant to buy tickets for the 2024 tour, which was scheduled to kick off this Friday.

Following the unfortunate cancellation, Pras released a new track titled “Bar Mitzfa,” where he seemed to vent his frustrations, rapping, “Don’t blame me, blame her, she made the mess/ Not another fucking penny, is what I told ‘Clef/ Trotting the globe with the bros, playing dominoes.”

Again, Pras set the record straight himself, saying, “I love Lauryn. She’s like a little sister; there’s no way we could ever have any beef.” He emphasized that his frustration is not with Hill personally, but rather stems from empathy for their fans. “Everyone’s frustration has been building up. This is not something that just happened overnight,” he explained. “My frustration was for the fans. They are paying their hard-earned money to see you.”

So the tension between Hill and Pras seems to be more about the genuine disappointment of their loyal fanbase rather than any personal conflict between the two artists.

Whelp, glad we cleared that up.

The horror film “Goons”, is ratcheting up their cast. Starring Chloe Bailey and Michael Rainey Jr., added J. Alphonse Nicholson, YG, and Tyler Lepley. 

Also coming on board are SteVonté Hart and Serayah McNeil. The movie is currently being filmed in New Orleans and nearby areas. 

So basically, specific plot details are still under wraps, it is known that the film is set “in the eerie backdrop of Louisiana cane fields and plantations.”

Get this, ”Goons” is the first project under Confluential Films’ new genre label, New Fear Unlocked Productions, which focuses on “bold, elevated, culturally specific horror films from creators of color.” 

Behind the camera is Gerard McMurray, known for “The First Purge” and “Burning Sands”, the film was co-written by McMurray and Hodge K. Johnson. Confluential Films founder and CEO Tommy Oliver is producing and fully financing the film.

Hopefully we’ll learn more about the film’s premise soon but as for the title, Goons, we’re here for it.

Who would thunk it? Cardi B wasn’t a fan of ATL, the hometown of her estranged husband, Offset.

The Bronx rapper recently opened up about her search for a New York apartment and reflected on her time living in the “A.”

Get this: on Thursday, August 22, Cardi B took to Instagram Live to address the buzz surrounding her apartment hunt in New York City. While some speculated that her move was tied to her divorce, Cardi B clarified that the decision was work-related. 

“Right now, I’m in the city, and I need to go take a shower,” she shared, revealing that she’s been showering in her engineer’s gym bathroom or renting hotel rooms, which she finds exhausting.

The “Kodak Black” emcee further explained, “I’m going to be coming to have meetings with my label like twice a week. And on top of that, I’m trying to get an office out here.” Cardi B emphasized that she feels “comfortable” in New York, and despite popular belief, she actually lives in her New Jersey home with her children, not in Atlanta.

“I don’t live in Atlanta. I have a house in Atlanta,” she clarified, adding that she rarely spends time there. “I only go to Atlanta like three or four times a year. And probably I go for a week, maybe less. I tried to move to Atlanta in 2018 and I lived there for like six months. And I hated it. I don’t have not one friend in Atlanta, and I don’t have not even one family member in Atlanta. So I just don’t like Atlanta.”

I mean, Atlanta isn’t for everyone, so we get it.

A federal judge decided that two Louisville Police officers who were charged with submitting a false affidavit to search Breonna Taylor’s home were not responsible for her death.

U.S. District Judge Charles Simpson said that Taylor’s boyfriend, Kenneth Walker, was responsible for her immediate cause of death by firing at the officers, causing them to respond with lethal force.

Back in 2022, Detective Joshua Jaynes and Sgt. Kyle Meany was charged with submitting a false affidavit to search Taylor’s home before the raid and then creating a fake story to avoid responsibility after Taylor was killed during the raid. They were also charged with felonies for using a dangerous weapon to deprive Breonna of her Fourth Amendment right to defend herself against unreasonable search.

Both officers would’ve received life sentences if they were found guilty. Both are also still facing other pending charges. Many face one charge of false statements to federal investigators, while Jaynes has been charged with two counts of falsification of records, conspiracy to falsify records and witness tampering.

If convicted, Jaynes could serve up to 40 years in prison, and Meany could serve five years. They both have been fired from the Louisville Police Department.

The DNC continues to raise the roof at the United Center in Chicago. It turned up even higher after House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries (D-N.Y.) went in on the podium. He representative from New York City, dropped a powerful speech that not only intertwined heartfelt support for Vice President Kamala Harris and sharp criticism of Donald Trump but some relatable anecdotes from well, the neighborhood. 

Get this, his address, is Jeffries’ first major appearance on the national stage since elevating to House Democratic leader. 

He laid out a compelling case, praising Harris as a true champion and added clear cut warning about Trump, whom he described, and others for that matter, as a clear and present threat to American democracy and fundamental freedoms. 

Let’s get one thing straight. Trump is just that. Project 2025 is the playbook, whether the former president owns it or not. 

Jeffries framed Harris as a relatable advocate for everyday Americans. He contrasted her with Trump, whom he called “a chaos agent who is focused on himself.” 

The speech, was part sermon, with some hilarious bars, more on that below and a rallying cry for the Democratic base.

But wait, he knew that it will take more than just Democrats to defeat Trump and if you listened closely he was speaking to all Americans, especially the younger generation.

If you’re tuned in on social for the best soundbites of the DNC, you may have already come across some of the more memorable moments of his speech. Jeffries likened Trump to an unwanted ex-boyfriend who refuses to accept a breakup. Think about that. Trump’s behavior is  a bit obsessive and feels creep ex-ish. 

“Donald Trump is like an old boyfriend, who you broke up with but he just won’t go away,” Jeffries declared. “He has spent the last four years spinning the block, trying to get back into a relationship with the American people. Bro, we broke up with you for a reason.”

Jeffries then went in on Trump’s record in the White House. He condemned the GOP’s tax cuts as a “scam” that primarily benefited the wealthy, and criticizing Trump’s handling of the COVID-19 pandemic as a “failure” for the country. He threw a barrage of verbal shots. They were landing and the crowd felt it. 

Again he accused Trump of trying to “destroy our democracy” with the January 6th Capitol attack. Which we must remind you that Trump is facing federal charges for that very attack. 

Jeffries lambasted the systematic appointment of three ultra conservative Supreme Court justices, who “destroyed Roe v. Wade at the expense of women’s freedoms.”

He cleverly kept returning to his analogy, where Jeffries reiterated, “We broke up with you for a reason. Donald Trump can spin the block all he wants, but there’s no reason for us to ever get back together. Been there, done that, we’re not going back.”

Jeffries wasn’t just shading Trump. He dedicated a swath of his speech to laying out how House Democrats would work closely with the Harris administration to take on key party priorities that will ultimately benefit all Americans. These platforms include combating climate change, reforming immigration laws, expanding Medicare, and restoring abortion protections lost after the repeal of “Roe v. Wade.”

Jeffries has a signature style. It’s almost melodic. 

He even found an entry point for Biblical references that resonated deeply with the audience. That’s America. Faith and belief, by and large and Jeffries wasn’t playing during those moments. 

The speech was grandiose but after his big moment, he had a more intimate press conference where he platformed to a smaller audience and spoke on the important of issues affecting young people in America. The Source was in attendance and we got the scoop.

Here are some quotes that we think hold a lot of weight …

“(Democrats are) passing gun safety legislation for the first time in 30 years” and “young people in America deserve a great public school education free of gun violence that is what they are demanding that is what we are working hard to deliver.”

Jeffries went on to say “Of course the young people in America care about making sure their freedom to make their own reproductive health care decisions are preserved and that we don’t turn back the clock which is what the extreme MAGA Republicans want to do, because of the fall of Roe v Wade.”

He added “We have a great issues based case to make.” Then Jeffries said “We have a candidate at the top of the ticket in Kamala Harris, who is inspiring young people, giving them hope, and joy and reason to believe that their future can be brighter than their past.” 

This discussion felt more like a fireside chat than your run of the mill press conference. Here’s what he believe, Hakeem Jeffries is serious. His convictions are real and he cares about the course of our great nation. He understands our freedoms are sacred and should be protected. He knows the only candidate to move us forward is Vice President Kamala Harris and as for Trump, he said it best:

“Bro, we broke up with you for a reason.” And Representative Jeffries believes we are not going back.

In an expected move, Travis Scott seeks to dismiss his ongoing trespassing case. Travis has been in the news lately, so let’s refresh your memory. 

The arrest stems from a June arrest in Miami, arguing that the marina where the incident occurred lacked visible “No Trespassing” signs. Well, that counts for something. 

In a textbook legal move, Scott’s lawyer, Bradford Cohen, filed a motion requesting the judge throw out the case.

According to the motion, Scott cannot be found guilty of trespassing because the marina did not have clear signage warning against it. Pretty simple, right?

While there were “No Trespassing” signs on the surrounding private property, Scott’s legal team argues that these should not apply to the marina itself. Specificity matters. 

Furthermore, Scott’s team says that his arrest location complicates the charges. 

They argue—wait for it—more specifics—that he was technically arrested at the address of a private parking lot, not the Miami Beach Marina, which is key to the case.

What caused it all? The incident leading to Scott’s arrest went down in June when he allegedly got into an argument with yacht staff at the Miami Beach Marina. 

Police had their say, claiming they instructed Scott to leave the area, but the cops say he reportedly returned shortly after, acting as they say was, belligerently. So they say …

Anyway, as a result, Scott was arrested and initially charged with both trespassing and disorderly intoxication. 

And if you didn’t know, prosecutors dropped the disorderly intoxication charge, leaving only the trespassing charge. The trial is currently set for September. The real question is, will it even happen? It seems like the police and courts have way more important things to focus on. 

Scott’s legal team hopes the judge will dismiss the case based on their arguments. To be honest, we do, too.

Several reports have confirmed that one of the Minneapolis Police officers that was convicted in the 2020 death of George Floyd was released from federal prison.

Thomas Lane served only two and a half years before being released from a low-security facility in Littleton, Colorado and the Bureau of federal Prisons noted that he would go into supervision for a year after being released.

The 41-year-old Lane is the first of four ex-Minneapolis officers in the incident to finish his sentence and be released.

The federal portion of his prison time was completed in April, but he stayed behind bars to serve a state sentence for aiding and abetting second-degree manslaughter.

Lane, who was at the scene with three other Minneapolis officers at the time of Floyd’s arrest and untimely death, already was serving a 30-month sentence in Colorado after he was convicted in July 2022 of violating Floyd’s Civil Rights. That conviction came for when former officer Derek Chauvin killed Floyd on May 25, 2020 by kneeling on his neck and cutting off his breathing.

In May that year, Lane pleaded guilty in Hennepin County to a state charge of aiding and abetting second-degree manslaughter in Floyd’s death and given his two and a half year sentence.

Arguably, Lane was the only officer of the four to any any concern for Floyd’s inability to breathe, later riding in the ambulance with an unresponsive Floyd while administering CPR in a attempt to get him to respond, but was unsuccessful.

Chauvin was sentenced to more than 20 years last year after a jury convicted him of murder and manslaughter. He later pleaded guilty to a federal charge of violating Floyd’s civil rights and is due to be released in 2038.

J. Alexander Kueng pleaded guilty to manslaughter and is serving a three and a half year sentence while Tou Thao, who was convicted of second-degree aiding and abetting manslaughter, is serving a nearly five-year sentence.

Cardi B just gave fans a hint at the status of her long-gestating second album, revealing that the project’s cover art has been shot. 

It looks like the “Bodak Yellow” rapper from the BX is in album mode, and that matters.

This hot news comes as fans eagerly await the follow-up to Invasion of Privacy, which was released in 2018 and earned her a Grammy for Best Rap Album. Sheesh, 2018. We need this new project!

Get this: The update came after a fan on X (formerly Twitter) posted a gif of someone standing on a helicopter’s edge, joking about traveling to France to find Cardi the Hermes bag she wants. Oh, bet she did joke about that.

Cardi responded by in the Cardi of B of ways …

“If you find me the bag I’ll release my album cover.” Another fan quickly picked up on her comment, tweeting, “So the album cover is ready is what I’m hearing,” to which Cardi replied, “Album covers are taken….I just don’t know which to pick.”

As you’ll probably know, Cardi B has faced a whole lot of smoke over the delay of her sophomore album, which she addressed in a July episode of “The Joe Budden Podcast.” 

Joe Budden remarked off the hip as he does, “We’ll never get another Cardi album again. I am standing on it.” In response, Cardi fired back in a clip shared on X, saying: 

“I don’t give a f— when people talk s— about me. It’s the fact you always talk s— about me, Joe Budden. Out of nowhere, you would think I did something to this n—-… For the past two years, this n—- has only talked bad things about me, constantly.”

Anyway, Cardi let fans know back in March that her album would be released in 2024. She later backtracked in May, saying, “Anyway, no album this year. I don’t care. I’m relaxing this year. Dropping these features I already committed to and traveling and enjoying my summer.”

The wait continues and we’re here for it.
