“Right now, I’m in the city, and I need to go take a shower,” she shared, revealing that she’s been showering in her engineer’s gym bathroom or renting hotel rooms, which she finds exhausting.

The “Kodak Black” emcee further explained, “I’m going to be coming to have meetings with my label like twice a week. And on top of that, I’m trying to get an office out here.” Cardi B emphasized that she feels “comfortable” in New York, and despite popular belief, she actually lives in her New Jersey home with her children, not in Atlanta.

“I don’t live in Atlanta. I have a house in Atlanta,” she clarified, adding that she rarely spends time there. “I only go to Atlanta like three or four times a year. Last year, singer DaniLeigh’s brother, Brandon Bills, took legal action against her ex, rapper DaBaby, following a highly publicized altercation at a Los Angeles bowling alley. Now, Brandon is seeking a multi-million dollar settlement, demanding over $4 million in damages. According to court documents obtained by In Touch, Brandon is asking for $2 million in general damages and an additional $2 million in special damages.

The road to serving DaBaby with the legal papers has proven challenging. Brandon reportedly hired a private investigator and a process server to track down the rapper, but both efforts were unsuccessful. As a result, the judge approved an alternative method, allowing Brandon to post an advertisement in a newspaper to officially notify DaBaby of the lawsuit.

Some spokesperson for former President Trump’s campaign recently commandeered Beyoncé’s hit song “Freedom” in a social media video featuring Trump. This raised eyebrows due to the song’s official connection to Vice President Kamala Harris’s campaign. 

The video, posted by Trump campaign spokesperson Steven Cheung on the platform X, shows Trump walking off a plane in Michigan with “Freedom” playing in the background. We’re not sure if he did his normal waive to no one but back to the post …

Cheung captioned the post with, “Touchdown in Michigan!! @realDonaldTrump.”

With that song? Weird.

As you may know, the use of “Freedom” is particularly noteworthy because Vice President Harris has frequently used the record throughout her campaign. Officially.

As several outlets reported, Beyoncé granted the Harris campaign permission to use the song during her presidential campaign. 

Harris has been prominently featuring the track in several campaign events and even in her first ad when she announced her bid for the White House last month. 

To illustrate how weird it is that Cheung used that song, on the first day of the Democratic National Convention, Democrats released a new ad that included an acappella version of “Freedom.”

R&B superstar Usher has announced the postponement of several shows on his highly anticipated “Past Present Future” tour after suffering a neck injury during rehearsals. The artist, who had already canceled his opening night concert on August 14, took to Instagram on Thursday to share that he’s rescheduling his first three Atlanta dates to allow more time for recovery.

“Earlier this week, I suffered an injury to my neck while rehearsing to provide my fans with the greatest Usher show of all time,” Usher wrote in his post. “My hope was that with physical therapy and medical treatment, I would be able to overcome the injury and be ready for opening night. Unfortunately, the injury has not healed yet, and my doctors have instructed me not to perform any shows this week.”

Despite the setback, Usher reassured fans that with appropriate rest and treatment, he should be ready to resume the tour in Washington, D.C., on August 20. “I love my fans and thank you for understanding that this injury must be healed so that I can give you the 100% excellence that you expect from an Usher show,” he added. “I will be on stage in your city very soon.”

The rescheduled Atlanta shows will now take place at State Farm Arena on December 9, 10, and 12, instead of the originally planned August 14, 16, and 17. Following the June altercation, Kehlani reportedly asked Young-White to leave. When she went to check the back house after his departure, she found it littered with weed, food, trash, and debris. She also expressed deep concern over Young-White’s erratic behavior, noting that he had blocked her and seemingly disappeared after their fight. Despite this, he would still occasionally pick up Adeya from school, leaving Kehlani in the dark about their whereabouts.

Given the gravity of Kehlani’s allegations, a judge granted her a temporary restraining order against Young-White, prohibiting him from contacting her or coming within 100 yards of her or their daughter. The judge also awarded Kehlani temporary sole custody of Adeya, at least until a hearing scheduled for next month.

Legal documents have revealed Kevin Hart ingested Molly during the weekend he cheated on his wife in 2017. The moment resulted in Hart issuing an apology online.

Page Six obtained a copy of the deposition logged in the Los Angeles Superior Court, included in a lawsuit from Jonathan “JT” Jackson against Hart. An unidentified friend revealed Hart initially denied the drug before telling, DAI Robin Letourneau, “F–k it, I said, and I put it in my drink.”

He added, “I had some water there. It was watered down. Because it’s in my drink, I’m fine. I’m fine with drinking. The night is good.”

Hart revealed he then went with the woman he cheated with, Montia Sabbag, and another woman named Morgan to his hotel room. The pair fell asleep. “I had sex with her the following morning. She woke me up,” Hart said.

He later realized Montia would attempt to lead him to the hidden camera where Hart was filmed in an alleged extortion attempt. Jackson would be arrested and charged with two felony counts of extortion that would be dropped.

Now, Jackson is seeking $12 million in damages.

In other Hart extortion news, the comedian filed a lawsuit against his former personal assistant, Miesha Shakes, and gossip vlogger Tasha K, accusing them of attempting to extort him. Now, Shakes is fighting back, seeking dismissal from the lawsuit.

In Touch reports that Miesha Shakes has asked a Los Angeles judge to remove her from the bombshell civil extortion case. According to court documents obtained by In Touch, Shakes denies all allegations of wrongdoing brought against her by Hart, 45.

Last year, Hart sued Shakes over an interview she did with YouTuber Tasha K. He claimed that Shakes made false statements and disclosed information she learned during her employment with him, which violated a non-disclosure agreement (NDA) she signed after leaving her position. Shakes worked for Hart from 2017 to 2020.

Shakes’ legal team argued that Hart “failed to plead specifically which statements they contend are false and defamatory or which facts [he] contends are true and an invasion of privacy.” They also stated that Hart’s claims are barred “because the statements challenged as false and defamatory, to the extent they can be determined, are substantially true.”

Moreover, Shakes asserted that her statements were not defamatory and “constitute expressions of protection opinion.” She claimed she did not act with malice and did not cause Hart any damage.

Regarding the NDA, Shakes’ lawyer argued that the contract was “invalid/illegal and cannot be enforced based on mental or physical incapacity which prevented [Miesha] from having the legal capacity to enter into or understand the alleged contract(s).”

Variety, broke the story, as they normally do and the still-untitled comedy film project from TriStar Pictures added Dewayne Perkins, the creator and star of “The Blackening”, along with Gabrielle Dennis from “A Black Lady Sketch Show”, DomiNque Perry from “Diarra from Detroit”, and Amin Joseph from “Snowfall”. Additional cast members include Tony Baker, Nefetari Spencer, and Rizi Timane. Sounds like they’re picking and choosing their talent carefully and wisely. 

These new exciting additions join an already star-studded lineup that includes Lil Rel Howery, Katt Williams, Janelle James, Vanessa Bell Calloway, Maude Apatow, Keyla Monterroso Mejia, Joshua Neal, Patrick Cage, and Aziza Scott.

Get this, while the plot and character details are being kept tightly under wraps, the film is expected to resonate with fans of “Insecure” and “Rap Sh!t”. The film is produced by Issa Rae, who is also known for her work on those two series, with Syreeta Singleton, the showrunner for “Rap Sh!t”, writing the screenplay. What’s wild is an eyewitness confirmed the details, telling The New York Post that people had gathered outside the building to take pictures. The resident who confronted the “Bodak Yellow” artist did so to inform the crowd that they couldn’t be there, which escalated the situation. “All of a sudden I heard Cardi B’s voice and I was like, ‘No way is that her,’” the witness recounted. “I turned around to see her and I was like, ‘No way, what the f**k?’ I walked over and I couldn’t believe it was Cardi B.”

Takeoff, killed in a fatal shooting outside a Houston bowling alley in 2022, inspired Quavo to release a tribute song in 2023. ICYMI, Quavo and Offset, another Migos member, reunited at the 2023 BET Awards to honor Takeoff with a performance. The right thing to do, for sure. 

Get this, more positivity … In 2022, Quavo established the Rocket Foundation to honor Takeoff’s legacy, focusing on gun violence prevention and criminal violence intervention. Born and raised in Atlanta, Quavo is a key figure in the local rap scene and is excited to welcome Vice President Harris to his hometown. Last month, Harris and Quavo participated in a conversation about gun violence at the Rocket Foundation Summit in Atlanta on what would have been Takeoff’s 30th birthday. Over the past year, Quavo and Harris have developed a strong connection, working together on gun violence prevention initiatives. 

CNN reported Quavo’s White House visit coincided with President Joe Biden’s establishment of the first-ever White House Office of Gun Violence Prevention, overseen by Harris. So policies on gun violence initiative BEFORE VP Harris announced her 2024 candidacy. Sounds like she’s on the right side of this issue.

Oh, but it gets better: Megan Thee Stallion will perform at the rally. On Monday, she announced her participation on Instagram, where she has 32 million followers, writing, “ATL HOTTIES SEE YOU TOMORROW,” along with an American flag emoji.

It makes sense that the Atlanta rally is strategically aimed at Black voters. You don’t have to be a political strategist to understand that this voting block is crucial to Harris’s campaign and a huge contingent of Gen Z and millennial voters who resonate with artists like Quavo and Megan Thee Stallion.

Let’s see how it goes. Either way, VP Harris, Quavo, and Megan Thee Stallion’s intentions are clear, and it sounds good to us.

Watch out, Keke Palmer and SZA’s upcoming buddy comedy has expanded its star-studded cast, and they aren’t playing with this lineup. 

Above the line, the untitled film is produced by Sony’s TriStar Pictures and MACRO Film Studios. Issa Rae leads the production team. Syreeta Singleton, showrunner of “Rap Sh!t,” is the writer, and Lawrence Lamont directs. It sounds like they’re about to have great creative chemistry on this one. 

Get this: Deadline Hollywood reports that the cast now includes Lil Rel Howery, Katt Williams, Janelle James, Vanessa Bell Calloway, Maude Apatow, and Keyla Monterroso Mejia. Joshua Neal, Patrick Cage, and Aziza Scott have also joined this intriguing ensemble.

Despite the lineup, the plot details remain closely guarded but promise to be a goodie with laughs and surprises. 

The project originated from the CoCre lab at Sony Pictures, a collaboration between ColorCreative and Sony aimed at identifying and nurturing emerging, diverse screenwriters to develop their first studio feature based on original concepts. That is exactly what the industry needs: original ideas from diverse upcoming filmmakers. Period.

As previously stated in earlier Deadline reporting: “The project came together from the CoCre lab at Sony Pictures with plot details being kept under wraps. The lab was a previous pact between ColorCreative and Columbia Pictures to source and incubate emerging, diverse screenwriters to develop and write their first studio feature based on original ideas.”

Who’s who is making this one? As mentioned, Rae and Sara Diya Rastogi are producing through Hoorae, with Deniese Davis producing through ColorCreative. Charles D. King, James Lopez, and Poppy Hanks produce via Macro Film Studios, while Keke and Sharon Palmer are executive producers through Big Boss. Singleton is serving as co-producer.

We’re just curious to see SZA acting under the bright lights with all these fantastic actors from what’s bound to be a great script. Good for her!
