Today, GRAMMY Award-winning artist Bilal unveils new single “Tell Me,” the latest from his forthcoming album Adjust Brightness, out September 27. Following the success of his June Black Music Month release, Live at Glasshaus featuring Questlove, Common, and Robert Glasper, Bilal is back with his first album of new music in eight years. The new work features 11 brand-new tracks that will take listeners on his most daring musical journey yet, marking a bold step forward in Bilal’s already innovative sound. 

“Tell Me” is a standout piece from Adjust Brightness, offering a glimpse into the forward-thinking sonic journey Bilal has crafted. The mesmerizing layered vocals are both intimate and raw, creating an abstract yet captivating listening experience. The track deconstructs traditional love ballads, weaving in unconventional structures while retaining a haunting emotional pull. Though it carries the bare and natural essence of a demo, “Tell Me” is masterfully produced, with every sonic detail honed to perfection.

“I realized a long time ago that, with the specter of AI and streaming, we risk losing our humanity,” says Bilal. “With Adjust Brightness, it was like: let’s make some shit that is going to confuse the damn computer. We’re bringing a love frequency — emphasizing the warmth, the love. It’s an intimate record.”

Eight years following 2015’s In Another Life, a collaboration with Adrian Younge that drew from the psychedelic verve of vintage funk, Adjust Brightness marks a bold new chapter for Bilal. This album is a giant step forward, as Bilal merges his organic, soulful roots with experimental electronic influences inspired by artists like Aphex Twin, Stereolab, and Jai Paul. The creation of Adjust Brightness was deeply inspired by a period of musical and visual experimentation. Bilal began to approach his music much like a painter approaches a canvas — focusing on moods, textures, and atmospheres rather than traditional song forms. His experiences with experimental jazz and live performances fed into this avant-garde direction, and tracks like “Sunshine” and “Humility” highlight his innovative use of atmospheric grooves, intricate beats, and sonic manipulation. Though he’s venturing into new territory, the album retains the warmth, intimacy, and emotional core that have always defined Bilal’s artistry.

Today, from the late, legendary Juice WRLD comes The Pre-Party, a two-pack of highly anticipated songs fans have been trading notes about for years. The surprise set pairs luxe emo-rap cut “World Tour (Aquafina)” with “Lightyears” featuring Young Thug, which has a slight country sway to it. Listen HERE via Grade A and Interscope Records. The 9AM global timing of the 9.9 release is significant to Juice WRLD and his fandom as a cherished number (999) that symbolizes the concept of flipping a bad situation into a positive one.

Juice previewed “World Tour (Aquafina)” on Instagram Live back in 2018, leaving listeners wondering if they’d ever hear the official release. Now, they can listen closely as the Chicago star inhales at the top of the track, then swan-dives through DJ Relentt’s jewel-tone synths into a blissed-out fever dream that rolls drugs, sex, and threats into a technicolor blur: “I can’t feel my tongue, shorty, I’m off the moll’, yeah / I still see the snakes, n****, run inside, yeah.”

“Lightyears” takes a different tack, mixing downcast guitar with booming bass while the two rap visionaries paint a modern picture of class and excess. “Taking trips off the Percs, I be sky high / In the sky sippin’ on red lean like it’s red wine,” Juice coos, while Young Thug flexes, “Ride big Bentleys everywhere that I go / Keep the Lamborghini parked at the bank though.” The beat comes courtesy of longtime Juice friend and collaborator Nick Mira. 

The latter song has also been the subject of much speculation. Before Juice’s passing, Thug confirmed the two had more songs in the works, and their chemistry has been affirmed time and again, from Future’s “Red Bentley” (2018), to Juice’s “On God” (2019), to their collab track “Bad Boy” (2021), on through Thug’s “Money” featuring Nicki Minaj (2023) – to name a few. Mira’s involvement with “Lightyears” upped the anticipation — he’s had multiple songs on every Juice album to date, including Top 10 hits “Lucid Dreams,” “Bandit,” and “Smile.”

“Sometimes I get fatigued,” MJB said. “I’ve been doing this for thirty-something years. In a little while, it will be time.”

Recently, Mary J. Blige dropped a brand new single, “Breathing,” featuring Fabolous.

The single, released through Blige’s own Beautiful Life Productions in partnership with 300 Entertainment, was produced by Shaun “S Dot” Thomas. The song was written by Mary J. Blige, Fabolous, Jocelyn “Jozzy” Donald, PurpleKBeats, and Jay Hawkins and contains samples of “Kick In The Door” by The Notorious B.I.G and “I Put A Spell On You” by Screamin’ Jay Hawkins. In TRAP, her character “Lady Raven” performs a powerhouse concert as a gripping and thrilling story unfolds concurrently. She penned the songs to entwine with her father’s script, so the rhythm of the music and the story symbiotically depend on one another. 42 Dugg has unleashed his long-awaited studio debut album 4eva Us, Neva Them via CMG Records/4PF/Interscope Records.

Dugg also has a star-studded list of collaborations on the album, including Lil Baby, Meek Mill, Sexyy Red, Jeezy, EST Gee, Rylo Rodriguez and Blac Youngsta. 4eva Us, Neva Them is Dugg’s first project of 2024, a year that serves as his official return from a lengthy break from the music scene.

“The God Emcee,” Rakim returns with his first official single, “Be Ill,” and project in 15-years, showing the world his “G.O.D.” status extends to more than just lyricism.

Alongside, Eric B and as a solo-artist, Rakim has released a total of seven studio albums.  Now, along with the release of his new single, Be Ill,” featuring Kurupt and Masta Killa, Rakim has also announced his new project, G.O.D.’s Network (Reb7rth), will be released on 7-26-24.  G.O.D.’s Network (Reb7rth) is also the first project that is entirely produced by the God himself.

Today, The Conglomerate Entertainment along with Bread Winners Entertainment set off a barrage of nuclear heat for the summer with Trillian’s 10PM in MIAMI. The song, produced by P8 and video, directed by Fordo Filmz, are both available June 14th on all DSPs and streaming services.

Trillian has had such high profile appearances as the 2023 BET Awards and “The Tonight Show” within the past year. “10 PM In Miami” was birthed bringing in 2024 on a high celebratory note with his siblings and father, Busta Rhymes, last New Year’s Eve. 

“We were partying  as a family, with our friends,” Trillian tells of his inspiration. “It was the first time we were all together to bring in the new year. We were celebrating some major wins and accomplishments, feeling really blessed.  The vibe was so incredible I had to get in the studio the next day and capture the feeling in the studio. That’s how I came up my with my new record.

“The video, it’s just capturing some snapshots of us on vacation,” Trill adds. “Miami is really one of my favorite cities. It’s always love every time we go.  Always a stupendous time.” 

With the enormity of the banger Trillian just released, he had to introduce it to the public in grand fashion. On June 13 as part of the “Yung N L!T Music Festival” in New York, Trillian took to the stage at the world famous, legendary Apollo Theater with a debut performance of the record and afterwards, he world premiered the video on the house screens for all the fans and artists in attendance. 

Trillian is claiming his spot on the throne as a hip-hop artist to watch with a style he’s coined as “Klassy Fly.” The 23 year old is already carrying on his family’s rich heritage of delivering music for the soul that all ages can relate to. The Long Island native also elevated himself to a burgeoning business savant, starting his own company Bread Winners Entertainment. 

“Bread Winners ENT is a family,” Trill explains. “It’s a brotherhood. It’s a group of friends and peers that evolved into brothers and we are all unified for the common  cause of team success..”

Shaquille O’ Neal and Jersey Legend Productions are bringing back hits from Shaq’s legendary hip-hop album You Can’t Stop The Reign; which was initially released in 1996 by O’ Neal’s TWisM record label during his prominence in the NBA and the Hip-Hop scene.  The album paired him with some of the most iconic emcees of the time including The Notorious B.I.G, Jay-Z, Mobb Deep and Rakim; and also featured appearances from Bobby Brown, DJ Quik and Ralph Tresvant among others.

Following a long string of success with chart-topping singles, Tems’ debut album has finally dropped and does not disappoint.

Born in the Wild, which dropped June 7, showcases the artist’s lyrical genius as well as her versatility and range from the hypnotic opening track “Born in the Wild” to the dance-track beat-heavy sound of “Forever” to her own spin on hip-hop on “T-Unit.”

The artist’s eclectic musical influences are evident throughout the 18-song album, which includes previously released track “Love Me Jeje” and include R&B, African beats and rhythms, soul, hip-hop, and poetry “Burning” is reminiscent of old-school R&B sounds, but with a distinct switch up of pace that keeps the listener engaged while simultaneously being hypnotized by Tems’ voice, which is overlaid to sound almost like a duet on the track.

The Nigerian singer’s African influence is evidence with the subtle Afrobeats sound that’s infused with a classic R&B sound in the musical tracks as well as the spoken interludes.  Tems’ musical ability never overshadows her talent for lyricism with her poetic capabilities shining through exceptionally well on “Ready.”

Guest artists include Asake (in the Reggae-esque “Get it Right”) and J. Cole (on “Free Fall”), demonstrating her ability to weave seamlessly between genres all on the same album.

As for the name and symbolism behind the debut album, Tems stated: “Born In The Wild is a story of transformation, from a cocoon to a butterfly,” continuing to explain that the album “speaks on surviving mental wilderness and coming to a place where one can thrive. It’s about finally accepting oneself and embodying the woman I was born to be. It shows the different dimensions of who I am, from a cub to a lioness.”

The album release coincides with Tems’ upcoming BORN IN THE WILD WORLD TOUR, which starts on June 12 in London and will continue throughout Europe and North America before heading to Africa and finally concluding in Australia on November 15. Underground hip-hop veterans, Dillon and Batsauce have been making unorthodox rap music together for nearly 20 years with a simple formula: Batsauce makes the beats, Dillon writes the songs, and whatever happens, happens. After carving out their own lane with a catalog of EPs and LPs over the past two decades, the duo has finally slowed down enough to ask themselves, “what have we done”?

Is the title of their latest effort rhetorical or meant to be an actual question? If so, Dillon and Batsauce probably don’t want to know the answer. They probably don’t want you, the listener to think too much about it either. Instead, What Have We Done is an invitation to experience the trials and tribulations, the small wins and the big losses of being aging independent artists in an increasingly cut-throat world for music makers.

Zimbabwe-born, London-based emcee Rhyme Assassin delivers a straight-up banger and connects with bully-rap royalty on his new single, “Run Em Up (Told Ya),” featuring none other than M.O.P. and Ruste Juxx.

The track also boasts production from underground rap luminary The Arcitype, whose menacing beat inspired Rhyme Assassin to reach out to his collaborators here. “I could only hear M.O.P. on the instrumental,” he says, adding that it didn’t matter how many times he listened to it, because he could only hear the Brownsville bullies on the beat. Then, when he needed a third verse to close it out, he linked with Ruste, who “complemented M.O.P.’s energy and vibes,” Rhyme Assassin says.

“Run Em Up” is an absolute bruiser of a track, with everyone involved nailing the concept of running up on competition. In a powerful ode to women worldwide, hip-hop legends MC Lyte, Salt-N-Pepa, and Big Daddy Kane have joined forces with R&B crooner Raheem Devaughn for the impactful single “WOMAN.” Produced by Grammy award-winning producer Warryn Campbell, the track serves as a bold celebration of womanhood and empowerment.

Executive produced by Warryn Campbell, “WOMAN” is set to be a highlight of MC Lyte’s upcoming project. The collaboration, a joint venture between My Block Inc. and Sunni Gyrl Inc. with distribution by Vydia, aims to uplift and inspire women of all backgrounds.

It’s been nearly a decade since the release of Slum Village’s last proper full-length album. 2015’s critically acclaimed Yes! further cemented T3 and Young RJ‘s ability to effectively carry on the legacy of the seminal rap group, retaining its essence while evolving its sound with fresh new energy. Since then, the two have gone on to pursue solo endeavors. However, with last year’s sold out tour in Europe, and the release of the Larry June and The Dramatics-assisted “Just Like You“, it was revealed that the duo was back in the lab together working on a new Slum Village album. With the release of the smoothed-out, Earlly Mac-assisted “Request” at the top of 2024, the new album’s title, FUN, was revealed.  Now, Slum Village taps legendary soul singer/songwriter Eric Roberson, and keyboardist Elijah Fox for a soulful new jam, “Factor”, and reveals that FUN will release via Ne’Astra Music/Virgin Music Group on April 19.

Slum Village is set to return to Europe for the FUN Since 92 Tour, kicking off on April 4 in Bologna, Italy. Following their 28 tour dates in Europe, T3 and Young RJ will join SZA and Jack Harlow in Louisville, Kentucky for the Gazebo Festival in May.

Andrew Zell, an up and coming producer from Madison, Wisconsin does more than just sit behind the boards; he’s a musician. He plays the keyboard, guitar, and also took guitar lessons for a number of years in school. He’ been mentored by a producer whose worked on Nirvana’s 1991 Nevermind album. The 22-year-old released one record as a recording artist and decided to switch to production full time, but “White Lies”, his debut single revived 250,000 streams on Spotify after a small campaign. Zell was also nominated for and revived a Madison Area Music Award.
